Summer Aesthetic + Playlist

Hello, dears!

You guys seemed to really enjoy my last playlist post, so here’s another one! This time I chose 18 summery, fun, upbeat songs that are perfect for road trips, outings with friends, or just for putting yourself in a summery mood. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

Since these songs tend to be more focused on happy melodies than deep lyrics, I’m not going to share my favorite lines this time – you’ll just have to discover some yourselves! Instead, I’ll tell a little bit about the song, accompanied by a link to a YouTube music/lyric video and a summery “polaroid” picture that (sometimes) goes with the song. You can find all the songs on Spotify as well. (Check the end of this post for a link to my full summer playlist!) And just so you know, all these songs are clean and family-friendly. ๐Ÿ™‚

Now then! Unwrap that ice cream sandwich, put on your sunglasses, and let’s get listening.ย

Sweet Sixteen Barn Dance

Hello, dears!

Remember how one of our friends had a barn dance at our shop last year for her birthday party? Well, this year we did it again and it was SO much fun! The shop was a mess, so it was a good thing we had a dance motivating us to clean it up. ๐Ÿ˜› I took plenty of pictures throughout the preparation and actual party, of course, and I hope you guys enjoy browsing through them!

Whatever Floats Your Boat {Pond Swimming}

Hello, dears!

Remember the post from last year about swimming in our duckweed-covered pond? Well, it’s swimming season again and “our pool is open!” XD It’s a rather greenish pool, but hey, it’s water, right?

One Sunday evening a couple of weeks ago, we all went down to the dock and my siblings went swimming and canoeing. Sort of. I stayed on dry land and took photos instead, heh heh. I managed to capture quite a lot of amusing action shots and funny expressions, which I hope you enjoy as much as I do!

Ready? Set? Go!

Golden Hour Walk + My Favorite Music

Hello, dears!

Last Saturday evening I decided to wander around our farm and take some pictures, and I’m so glad I did! The woods and fields looked so peaceful and gorgeous in the golden light. โค Since the lighting was perfect, I focused on adjusting the settings in the moment to capture beauty without having to edit it later.

I absolutely love how the photos turned out, but instead of just saying that after every photo, I’m going to share some of my favorite music interspersed throughout with a link to a YouTube video for each of them. ๐Ÿ™‚ I mostly listen to Christian music, but I also have a few pop, country, classical/instrumental, and folk songs on my playlist. Pretty much whatever strikes my fancy. XD They’re all clean, though; you don’t have to worry about that. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now, I hope you enjoy the photoshoot and maybe even find some new music to add to your collection!

Photography Challenge {My Entries}

Hello, dears!

A little while ago, the marvelousย Amanda came up with a 12-day photography challenge for her photographer friends and herself. I was one of the aforementioned, and it was a lot of fun! Several of us contributed prompts and then posted our photos from each day on a Google Doc, so all the other participants could see them as well. I enjoyed intentionally creating photos instead of just snapping a picture of whatever was already there, like I usually do.

So, as you might guess, today I’ll be showing you the photos I took for this challenge! Continue reading

{Summer 2018}

Hello, dears!

Oh my, it was VERY hard to restrain myself from starting this post with the overused “I can’t believe summer went by so quickly!” (Wait, but what did I just do…? XD) Instead… let me think. Oh! I saw a marquee sign the other day that said “Summer should get a speeding ticket.” Much more original, right? AND TRUE.

ANYWAY. I seriously am having a hard time believing it’s September already, especially since this is the first year after graduating when I don’t have school! :O It feels strange, but it’s exciting. Even though it’s notย technically fall yet, it doesn’t quite feel like summer anymore. Maybe it’s… fummer. NOPE, THAT SOUNDS TERRIBLE. Maybe it’s just September. Let’s go with that.

Ahem, what I was TRYING to say was that this post will be about 20+ things I did this summer, in no particular order. Not an exhaustive list, but a good summary. (Or rather, summery. SORRY I COULDN’T RESIST.)

Wow, I really better start using pictures instead of words, now. This is getting out of control. O.o Heh, let’s begin. Continue reading

Off the Deep End: Going Pond Swimming

Hello, dears!

This is a sad subject to talk about, but the truth is… we are in our last month of summer. *SNIIIIFF* As everyone knows, summer is for swimming, but as not everyone knows,ย we have sadly only gone swimming three times this year. The only pools we have are ponds and streams at our new farm, and one of those ponds is a mudhole while the other is usually covered in duckweed. Yay. However, we still managed to get wet and have fun!

So, in case you ever thought about going swimming in a pond or lake but simply didn’t know how to go about it, NEVER FEAR. I have gleaned much wisdom from the past three swimmings that I’m sure will come in handy. *nods gravely* XD XD XD Ahem. Continue reading
