Rose Petals + Self Portraits

Hello, my friends!

I’m excited to make some Christmas posts soon, starting next week after we get our Christmas tree, but today I’m finally posting this photoshoot I did months ago with a lovely coral pink rose. One day I realized my shirt matched the color of the roses almost exactly, and couldn’t resist doing a mini still life/self-portrait photoshoot with it! I had a lot of fun seeing how many different pictures I could compose with just one prop.

Enjoy some light and color and flower goodness!

Etcetera #16 {Alpacas, Potatoes, & River Adventures}

Hello, my friends!

Welcome back to another scrapbook of random photos and behind-the-scenes shots from the past few months! I’m including some phone photography this time, because… these ducks deserve to be on my blog. *nods* I’ll keep the introduction short since we have a lot of photos to get through, but you guys know how this works. Warm up your scrolling fingers and enjoy some cute animals, pretty skies, bright flowers, etcetera!

Indoor Photoshoot {Black & White Edition}

Hello, my friends!

When I was taking pictures for the last post, I kept coming across interesting patterns and scenes which would look perfect in black and white. I ended up with too many of those to squeeze into the first post, so I figured I’d collect them all here for you guys. B&W photos are a great way to capture interesting shapes and textures if the colors and lighting aren’t that great (or even if they are). I had to resist making all the photos monochromatic once I saw how nice these ones looked, haha.

Okay, enjoy some low-key photos of random details from around our house!

Messy Desks & Peacock Feathers {Indoor Photography}

Hello, my friends!

Yesterday I tried an experiment: I walked around our house, attempting to turn random, normal things like an unmade bed and a cluttered table into pretty subjects. All the indoor photos you see online seem to have perfectly clean and tidy backgrounds, but I wanted to take pictures of the way our house looked without cleaning it up first. Was the experiment a success? I don’t know – you’ll have to tell me after you see the pictures!

In a New Light {Indoor Photoshoot at Golden Hour}

Hello, my friends!

Ah, I kinda love these pictures. I’ve been wanting to do a “dramatic natural light” indoor photoshoot for a while and I finally got the chance using a perfect gladiola bloom and… myself. 😛 Enjoy some creative self-portraits, peaceful indoor photography, and dramatic florals! I hope these pictures make you look at ordinary things in a new light today. Continue reading

Just Some Pretty Flower Pictures :)

Hello, my friends!

Mom got so excited for our garden this year that she bought at least 75 different kinds of seeds. O.o That includes a LOT of flowers. So since it’s almost summer and I love floral photography and we have plenty of beauty to share, I thought I’d take some pretty flower pictures for you guys!

I hope this simple post adds some color to your day. Enjoy! ❤

The Library {Indoor Photography}

Hello, dears!

Today I have a different sort of photoshoot for you. While I was taking pictures for my Day in the Life post, I found a bunch of interesting subjects in our library and just kept snapping as I walked around. 😛 I usually prefer nature photography, but it was fun to capture the texture of man-made things and the character of our old farmhouse from the inside. I hope you enjoy the tour!
