Field Work at Golden Hour {Hay Baling & Farm Life}

Hello, dears!

It’s baling season right now, so my dad and brothers are out pretty much nonstop during the day, cutting and baling and putting away the hay and straw we will sell later. Despite all the nature pictures I take, I don’t often make a post about field work or farm life like this for some reason. So I hope you enjoy today’s photoshoots!

Harvesting is one of the most interesting parts of farm work to watch, I think, and it’s also one of the most beautiful to photograph… particularly when you’re taking pictures during golden hour. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Enjoy some peaceful fields, sunrays, and a little bit of farm trivia! ๐Ÿ˜€ Let’s do this.

Golden Days {Farewell to Teenage Years +a Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

Welp, today I officially turn twenty. O.o I feel so old, good gracious. So far my birthday has been amazing, especially the part where almost 30 of my friends sent me birthday videos that GAHHH made me smile so hard. If you’re reading this, dears – thank you for making my day X100. โค โค โค I love you girls so much!

*deep breath* Anyway, where was I? Oh yes. This birthday post is going to be one of my favorite kinds – a pretty golden hour photoshoot, because those make me happy. ๐Ÿ™‚ And instead of photo captions, maybe I’ll do kind of a “Thoughts On…” ramble about how it feels to not be a teenager anymore because whyyyy does everyone act like it’s terrible to be one? It can be, but it can also be wonderful. So yeah.

Let’s go for a walk and take pictures of flowers and chat about life. Let’s have a golden day, shall we?

Spring Playlist + Aesthetic {2020}

Hello, dears!

Let’s talk about music! I’ve had a lot of fun putting together another playlist post for you guys today since my, it’s been a while. Spring always seems like a season of hope to me, despite whatever the news is saying right now. It’s hard to be too sad when I go outside and see new green life spreading over the old brown world as it always does, year after year…

So here are a few of my recent favorites and hopeful songs to brighten you day. I hope you enjoy! Grab your earbuds or speaker and let’s get listening. ๐Ÿ™‚

Thoughts On… {Seeing Beyond}

Have you ever been out walking in the golden evening when the world is soft and quiet and the honey sun coats everything?

Have you ever seen the brown and dull things glow around the edges, gilded by the light, or a sullen cloud with a silver lining and just… it just looked beautiful, even if it was the saddest looking thing the last time you passed by? Sometimes the light makes flowers on the trees where nothing exists but brown buds, shining and illuminated with warmth.

What I am asking is, have you ever seen the sun transfigure ordinary things into something glorious?

I have seen it happen. And I know, whatever happens, I cannot quite give up hope…

Explore with Me 001 | Golden Hour Walk

Hello, dears!

I don’t know about you, but I spend WAY too much time on the computer. I could give a lot of good excuses, some of which are legitimate, but still, the fact remains. I do love being outside and especially exploring our land with my family, but I don’t have much motivation to go outside by myself because it feels like such a waste of time when I could be doing many more useful things inside. Anyone else??

But. Yesterday I was tired of being on a screen and it looked beautiful out there, so I decided to give myself a break and take my camera and just walk around. And it was lovely. Sometimes a breath ofย  fresh air is useful in itself, right?

I hope these pictures can inspire you to take a screen break (after this post, of course ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and find some beauty where you live!

Morning Light Photography

Hello, dears!

Today I have some more lovely light photography for you! Instead of a photoshoot at golden hour, I took these in the morning. Sometimes I go outside to feed the rabbits or something and find too much beauty to leave unphotographed, which naturally means I postpone my other plans and take some pictures before the light changes. ๐Ÿ™‚

This time, instead of editing my photos as usual, I decided just to let the pictures shine as they are – terrible pun intended. I did edit a few very minimally, but for the most part these are straight out of the camera!

Enjoy the results of me wandering around the yard with a camera in dreamy lighting. ๐Ÿ™‚

Of Donkeys and Magnolia Trees

Hello, dears!

Today’s post is going to be sort of an odd mix of photos which were taken on the same two evenings, so I decided to lump them together. ๐Ÿ™‚ My family and I were mulching our flowerbeds about a month ago, and it happened to be during my favorite time to photograph, a.k.a. the golden hour. Knowing me, you’ll not be surprised that I couldn’t resist photographing many things (including pet donkeys, magnolia trees, and random weeds) in the golden light. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Enjoy browsing through this summer evening!

A Walk in the Wildflowers

Hello, dears!

My sister Megan and I planted a TON of flowers this year. We were skeptical at first about whether they’d work since we hadn’t tried wildflowers here before… but wow, did they grow! We now have two little wildflower patches overflowing with blooms, plus a longer stretch of flowers near the end of our family’s garden. And, knowing me, you’ll not be surprised to hear that I have taken tons of pictures. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I’ve narrowed down some of my favorite pictures to show you guys today, including a goodly selection of macro photography. I hope you enjoy these bright and colorful beauties at the golden hour!
