Explore with Me 001 | Golden Hour Walk

Hello, dears!

I don’t know about you, but I spend WAY too much time on the computer. I could give a lot of good excuses, some of which are legitimate, but still, the fact remains. I do love being outside and especially exploring our land with my family, but I don’t have much motivation to go outside by myself because it feels like such a waste of time when I could be doing many more useful things inside. Anyone else??

But. Yesterday I was tired of being on a screen and it looked beautiful out there, so I decided to give myself a break and take my camera and just walk around. And it was lovely. Sometimes a breath ofย  fresh air is useful in itself, right?

I hope these pictures can inspire you to take a screen break (after this post, of course ๐Ÿ˜‰ ) and find some beauty where you live!

Etcetera #9

Hello, dears!

I’m back with another etcetera post today! If you’re new here, I use these posts to combine all the “orphan photos” and mini topics that aren’t quite big enough for their own post. It’s basically a virtual scrapbook of little moments from the past two months. ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy this collection of summer adventures, memorable explorations, golden hour photos, etc.!

Sweet Sixteen Barn Dance

Hello, dears!

Remember how one of our friends had a barn dance at our shop last year for her birthday party? Well, this year we did it again and it was SO much fun! The shop was a mess, so it was a good thing we had a dance motivating us to clean it up. ๐Ÿ˜› I took plenty of pictures throughout the preparation and actual party, of course, and I hope you guys enjoy browsing through them!

Hay Days

Hello, dears!

By the time May rolls around, the orchard grass and fescue are getting tall and ripe in the hayfields, ready for the first harvest of the season. I took these photos of my dad and brother baling a field a little while ago, and thought you guys might like to see some behind-the-scenes (and some picturesque farm landscapes ๐Ÿ˜› )! I don’t usually photograph tractors or machinery that much, but it was fun for different. ๐Ÿ™‚

Enjoy!

Golden Hour Walk + My Favorite Music

Hello, dears!

Last Saturday evening I decided to wander around our farm and take some pictures, and I’m so glad I did! The woods and fields looked so peaceful and gorgeous in the golden light. โค Since the lighting was perfect, I focused on adjusting the settings in the moment to capture beauty without having to edit it later.

I absolutely love how the photos turned out, but instead of just saying that after every photo, I’m going to share some of my favorite music interspersed throughout with a link to a YouTube video for each of them. ๐Ÿ™‚ I mostly listen to Christian music, but I also have a few pop, country, classical/instrumental, and folk songs on my playlist. Pretty much whatever strikes my fancy. XD They’re all clean, though; you don’t have to worry about that. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Now, I hope you enjoy the photoshoot and maybe even find some new music to add to your collection!

Fields & Fences {Sister’s Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

A couple of weeks ago, I did a senior photoshoot for a friend of a friend’s son (well THAT was confusing), and practiced the day before with this little mini shoot of my youngest sister. ๐Ÿ˜€ Some of these poses worked better for a senior guy than a little girl, obviously, but she was the only volunteer, so I just went with it anyway. XD

Even though I didn’t use all the poses and locations in the real shoot, we had a lot of fun walking around the farm at golden hour and taking a bunch of photos. I hope you enjoy a sampling of the result!

A Day in the Life…

Hello, dears!

“Day in the life” posts are so fun to read, aren’t they? Since I enjoy reading them, I thought I’d better get on it and make one myself. ๐Ÿ™‚ย  Instead of documenting an actual entire day, I reconstructed what a normal day looks like for me. Well, okay… many days I’ll do errands, go to church-related events, get together with friends, etc. but this is what I usually do on “stay at home days.” ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you guys enjoy!

A Flock of Feathers

Hello, dears!

On Easter weekend, we finally did it. We brought back seven hens to start a little flock at our farm. We’ve been enjoying our break from the poultry houses we owned at our old farm, but we decided seven chickens wouldn’t be that much work, and we go through about three dozen eggs a week, so… yeah, they will come in handy. ๐Ÿ˜‰

All the hens are pretty young, some in the pullet stage and some almost ready to lay, so we haven’t gotten any eggs yet. But it’s been fun taming them and watching them… and taking pictures. ๐Ÿ˜‰ They’re so much prettier and nicer than the boring old broiler-breeders we had at our poultry houses, ha ha!

I hope you enjoy meeting our new “pets,” my friends!
