Carmen & Nellie {a Photoshoot}

Hello friends!

Are you ready for some cuteness today? My youngest sister Carmen asked I could take pictures of her and her goat Nellie. I was happy to do so since goodness, it’s been so long since their last photoshoot! This whole photo session was completed in about 20 minutes, between some friends leaving after a visit and the sun going down. My camera battery died after only a few shots, but we decided to keep going with my phone as the backup camera.

Despite the chaos of all that plus Nellie wanting to run away and eat grass the whole time, we got some lovely photos that I can’t wait to share with you! Enjoy. πŸ™‚

This was the photoshoot in a nutshell: Nellie devouring tasty blades of wheat and Carmen forcefully trying to interest her in photos instead. :’D

But Nellie was not to be swayed from her singleminded purpose.

Thankfully, the goat is still small enough for Carmen to at least partly pick up, as demonstrated here.

Okay, I love this one though! It looks deceptively peaceful, but also just as cute as it was in real life. Such a pretty picture!

Carmen’s dashing white steed, hehe.

While Nellie was uncooperative, Carmen was an excellent model! I took a few nice portraits of just her, which I’ll post later.

Aha! Carmen had the bright idea to tempt Nellie with a fresh handful of wheat. It kinda worked, even though Nellie had the whole wheatfield at her disposal. Something about being offered by hand what you already have is so much more exciting!

HAHA, this one cracks me up. It’s also a good summary of our photoshoot.

This is where my camera died and we had to switch to my phone. The quality and colors aren’t as good, obviously, but I’m enjoying the vast superiority of my Google Pixel’s camera to the awful camera of my previous phone. Also hey look! Nellie is cooperating!

Haha I love these! Carmen looks so pretty and Nellie looks so silly. πŸ˜›

We had to redo this pose from a previous photoshoot. Nellie is still happily sporting a few blades of wheat on her head.

Hehe, this one’s cute. I love Portrait Mode on my phone! But as you can tell, it’s not perfect. DSLRs are still better. πŸ˜‰

The picture on the right is one of my favorites from the photoshoot! That’s the kind of photo we were going for. And the one on the left just makes me grin.

Nellie’s horns are getting so long!

OUCH. Carmen is apparently not afraid of her horns because she did this on purpose, hehe.

We’ll end with one last phone picture of Carmen, Nellie, and Maggie, with a lovely sunset in the background. It was a beautiful day for a photoshoot!

If you want to see more Carmen and Nellie cuteness, check out the older posts below. I just looked at them again and OH MY, Carmen and Nellie were both tiny two years ago! My little sister is growing up, guys. She also got contacts instead of glasses, which probably makes her look older.

Which photo(s) did you like best? Should I do a photoshoot of Carmen with some of our other pets?

Thanks so much for reading, my friends, and have a lovely day!

  1. oh my goodness carmen looks so big. which is a weird thing to say on the internets but i mean that in the most affectionate wholesome way possible. ALSO! your phone camera abilities are stunning. but i’ll credit the photographer for that ^-^

  2. Wow, so pretty! And I thought you did such an amazing job with the phone photos! I love the golden-red glows over the treeline! *sighs happily*

  3. Initially it really seemed like the goat hated what was going on but by the end, even the quality of the photo was off…the goat seemed more at ease and looks like she is smiling 😁
