Hello, my friends!
Mom got so excited for our garden this year that she bought at least 75 different kinds of seeds. O.o That includes a LOT of flowers. So since it’s almost summer and I love floral photography and we have plenty of beauty to share, I thought I’d take some pretty flower pictures for you guys!
I hope this simple post adds some color to your day. Enjoy! ❤

Let’s start with some gorgeous poppies – one of my favorite flowers.
AHH I love the colors in this one! So summery! Click here to check out the inexpensive macro lens attachment I use for close-ups like this.
The sad thing about poppies is how quickly they fade…
But even after the petals fall, I find the center fascinating. It looks kinda like a rubber stamp, doesn’t it?
A rather dangerous and exotic-looking bud.
Bachelor’s buttons are one of my very favorite wildflowers. ❤ I love their fluffy petals and gorgeous colors.
I mean, this blue…
I followed this bee around with my camera and watched him stick his fuzzy face into flower after flower. Bees are cute. 😛
Our house in the background adds a nice little touch. 🙂
Pink poppies…
And California poppies! These just make me happy.
Ooh, this would be a good wallpaper, hm… Feel free to use these for your phone or computer if desired!
Mom grows the flax mainly as filler greenery for bouquets. It does have blue flowers, but the petals fall super easily.
This little guy got lost among the flax plants.
Maybe it’s just because we have silk/faux poppies, but this style always looks fake to me. So perfect.
The dark background here reminds me of this flower photoshoot; remember that one?
Ohhhh my goodness, I LOVE THIS COLOR. My favorite color is purple and I absolutely love this shade specifically.
This cute round magnolia bud reminds me of a puff of whipped cream.
More happy yellow flowers!
Hm, these are making me want to change my phone lockscreen…
Wait… I just realized the clematis is still blooming, HA. I thought it was over until I took this picture. Apparently not.
We got these hanging baskets for Mom for Mother’s Day. It has a few pink verbena flowers tucked in, but the white petunias have mostly taken over. Now we have two clouds on our porches!
I shall end the post with some indoor flower photography. I adore this bouquet Mom made with Shirley poppies and flax stems. ❤
I like the contrast between the purely decorative, beautiful bouquet, and the logical, reasonable game below it. 😛
Ooh, a dramatic one. Hehe. I figured I may as well use the dark dining room to my advantage.
Another pretty poppy bouquet by the mirror…
This is the color scheme I think of when I imagine summer. What about you?
My sisters and I picked a five-gallon bucket full of daisies for Megan’s and Logan’s graduation party last week, and the bouquets are still pretty! Something about the simplicity of daisies makes them almost prettier than a showy flower like an iris or a lily. You know?
Well, that’s all the pictures I have for you today, dears. I hope you enjoyed the virtual bouquets! Flowers just make me happy, and I hope the photos brought joy to you too. 🙂
Did you have a favorite photo? What is your favorite kind of flower? Are growing any flowers this year?
Thanks so much for reading, my friends, and have a lovely day!
***Allison***
P. S. Photos taken with my Nikon D3400 and a 50mm lens, plus this extension tube kit for the close-ups. Edited with Lightroom.
AHHHH the close-ups of the bright flowers are beautiful!!! Makes me feel so happy. Summer is my very favorite season. ❤

Whoa, Allison, those pictures were gorgeous! Poppies are so beautiful! I loved the second picture! That “dangerous exotic looking bud” was beautiful as well, lol. And I can’t believe you got such a close-up picture of that bee! I can never photograph bees.
All of the colors are so pretty! We’re starting to get flowers here, so I’m excited about that! (Although since no one in my family is really gardener-material we haven’t actually planted any of our own)
And ah, that magnolia bud was so-o-o-o-o-o-o cute. *dies* And those pictures make me want to get some hanging baskets too! 😍
*ahem* Anyway, sorry for the rant and I shall end this very long comment here. Thanks so much for sharing, and gorgeous photography as always!

I KNOW, they really are! The second one is one of my favorites as well. And yes, the dangerous bud. XD XD Yeah, photographing bees requires patience and a quick finger on the shutter, hehe.
Yay, I’m glad you’re starting to get flowers where you live! Aw shucks. Well hopefully you get to enjoy someone else’s flowers then. 🙂
Hehe, I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks it’s cute. XD And yes, we love hanging baskets!
Oh, never apologize for rants. *nods solemnly* I love them! 😛 Thanks for the lovely comment, dear, and I’m so happy you enjoyed the post!

Allison, those are so beautiful! Flowers are my favorite piece of nature to photograph. I especially loved the first and second one. We visited a rose garden a couple years ago, which was super fun because I got to experiment with my photography skills on the different flowers. Unfortunately, our garden is really tiny (we live in town) so we only have room to plant flowers around the border.

I'm growing sunflowers and bachelor buttons! 😀 😀 I'm so hoping they bloom this year! ❤ I also have some "pre grown" flower plants like a geranium, gerbera daisy, lantana, fushia and…something I forget, haha! 😀 I love gardening! ❤
