Forest Portraits & Sunflower Fields

Hello, my friends!

This post is going to be kinda weird. I have two completely different photoshoots for you guys today: a collection of self-portraits I took back in January on a foggy/cloudy day, and a cheerful, summery set of sunflower photos left over from this sisters photoshoot. I love them both and I’m excited to finally share them together since they’re almost too small to post individually.

Enjoy some out-of-season photos! 😀

We’ll start with the wintry ones. I wanted to take some photos in the fog, but sadly this was basically the only one I got before it disappeared.

I went to the woods instead. It kinda looks like this tree smells good or something but nope, it just smelled like a wet beech tree. :’D

These photos are a little strange, honestly, because I was trying some serious poses to fit the mood of the weather. They were… more or less successful. XD

Wow, an almost-smile! It’s hard for me not to smile when someone else is taking my picture, but I guess I can be serious when I’m just staring at a camera on a tripod. 😉

I love this white sweater. It’s from Cato, I believe.

Ready for a creepy one? It’s a tree trunk with arms!

I don’t know what I’m looking at, but it must be fascinating…

Barbed wire grown into the side of a tree makes an interesting photo prop. *nods* I feel like this could be a writing prompt except it would fit better if I had old clothes on instead of nice ones, you know?

HAHA. Here is me looking unimpressed. Or something. 😛

There, a little more natural. I got the peacoat from Belk, in case someone was going to ask. I love it, but it’s already looking kinda worn by now. Sadness.

Okay, abrupt subject change! Now that we’ve finished the somber photos, time to brighten things up with some cheerful sunflowers. Click here to see a photoshoot Megan and I did in this field.

The lighting in these photos is THE BEST EVER, HELP.

I’m so pleased with this photo! It turned out so nice and clear and professional-looking, in my opinion. And it just makes me happy. 🙂

Ah, I hope Dad plants sunflowers here again this year. The setting was perfect.

Featuring a funny sunflare that looks like a parachute or something. 🙂

AHHH! Another happy one! Seriously, posting these is making me smile!

Now I’m really looking forward to green cornfields and flowers everywhere. I love spring, but I guess summer is pretty great too…

Hello, sunshine!

Apparently the bees enjoyed the flowers too.

And here’s a close-up with a bee and bokeh to end on. 🙂

I hope those pictures brightened your day, dears! Well, at least the sunflowers. I hope the portraits were interesting even if not quite as cheerful. XD I loved doing both photoshoots and I’m so glad I finally got around to sharing them with you!

Which photoshoot did you like best?

Thanks so much for reading, my friends, and have a lovely day!

  2. These are all very nice. I don’t know which is my favorite. Your self portraits are really varied with the different poses and moods, and the sunflower photos were great too. I like flower close-ups and the more distant photos you took. It’s too hard to choose.

  4. The third portrait from the top has some creepiness due to the sepia tone.. 😀 All images are beautiful as always. You are lucky to be living in the midst of nature.
