Another Dewy Photoshoot

Hello, my friends!

I’ve been saving this dewdrop photoshoot for several months, as you will see from the green-ness and flowers in this post. Since, of course, I’ve posted countless similar photoshoots (but I can’t help it!), I decided to edit these pictures a little differently. Although I took them all at the same time, I had fun editing some to look like they were taken at golden hour or even at night. You know me and my photo editing experiments, right? 😛

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this small dose of sunshine and growing things for a winter day!

Grass with dew still fascinates me after photographing it for years. Hehe. Especially in the morning when the sun makes the greens glow and the water drops sparkle. Just so fresh and lovely, isn’t it?

Look, it’s a flower! We’ve already been planning for our next garden for a while now, and seeing these pictures in winter just makes me more excited, ahh.

I’m pretty sure I took this one in a field because I don’t think the grass is this long in our yard. 😉

I’ve discovered that the asparagus bed looks gorgeously shimmery and silvery with water drops or frost. I remember taking these photos in October and being impressed with their wintriness. These two do look icy!

Did you know asparagus plants look all feathery and dainty like this after the edible spears disappear?

I found two cute little asparagus berries hanging out together like a pair of cherries. (Nice rhyme…)

Ahh, more flowers! I love the bokeh and sparkle in these marigold pictures. ❤

I was trying to capture the tiny dewdrops in the center of this zinnia, but they’re kind of hard to see unless you zoom in…

Goodness, this was a while ago! We still had baby plants in our winter garden.

I love the bokeh and lighting with this lavender plant!

Ahh, this one makes me happy because it has three of my favorite things – flowers, dewdrops, and purple. 🙂

Okay, now we’re getting to the different edits. I toned down the brightness here to make it look like I took it at golden hour.

And here’s another photo, taken at the same time as the first grass photo in this post, but exposure-adjusted to look like night. Hehe, I have way too much fun editing photos. XD

This is the last picture of grass, don’t worry. But LOOOK! I love how colorful the bokeh is here! It seems like New Year’s grass or something. 😛

We shall end with another dark flower picture. There’s something pleasing about blacking out the background so you can only see your subject. I’ll have to try it more often.

  2. Grass glitter!!! That’s what my nanny kids call the morning dew. I love those asparagus plant photos. I had no idea this is what they looked like. And oh the flowers. I’m ready for warmer weather!!!

  5. Wow, these are gorgeous! I love the ones of the asparagus (I love grown up asparagus!) And especially the dark flower one at the end. It has this feeling of mystery–maybe because the viewer can’t see the inside of the flower?–that captivates me.

  11. Do you think you could post an editing tutorial sometime? I don’t have Lightroom but I’d still love to learn how to use it (and other programs such as GIMP)

  18. They are so attractive and pretty! I really like them. (These pictures are helping me understand what dew is, because I am learning this in school currently, and I had no idea whatsoever what dew looks like. So, thanks)

    1. Aww, thank you! I’m glad the photo was helpful too. Dew is like small drops of water all over the ground, and frost is similar but it’s ice instead of water – sometimes it looks like it has snowed!
