A Frosty Christmas Photoshoot + Playlist

Hello, dears!

AHHH MERRY CHRISTMAS! 😀 😀 😀 I’m scheduling this post so I can’t tell you about our celebrations yet, but I hope your day is/was wonderful!

Anyway, I wanted to post something Christmasy, so I decided to go with a wintry photoshoot along with some of my favorite Christmas songs. Enjoy, my friends! And if you want to read some Christmas short stories I’ve written, check the end of this post for links. 🙂

Labor of Love // Andrew Peterson

It was a labor of pain
It was a cold sky above
But for the girl on the ground in the dark
With every beat of her beautiful heart
It was a labor of love

O Holy Night / Ave Maria // The Piano Guys

Long lay the world in sin and error pining
Till He appeared and the soul felt its worth…
A thrill of hope, the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn…
O Night Divine! When Christ was born.

Joseph’s Lullaby // Mercy Me

I believe the glory of Heaven
Is lying in my arms tonight
But Lord, I ask that He for just this moment
Simply be my child

Breath of Heaven (Mary’s Song) // Amy Grant

I am waiting in a silent prayer.
I am frightened by the load I bear.
In a world as cold as stone,
Must I walk this path alone?
Be with me now.
Be with me now.

O Come O Come Emmanuel // Tommee Profitt

O come, thou Dayspring, come and cheer
Our spirits by thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death’s dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel

I Wonder As I Wander // Lindsey Stirling

I wonder as I wander out under the sky,
How Jesus, the Saviour, did come for to die.

What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve? // Johnnyswim

Maybe I’m crazy to suppose
I’d ever be the one you chose
Out of a thousand invitations
You received
Ah, but in case I stand one little chance
Here comes the jackpot question in advance
What are you doing New Year’s
New Year’s Eve?

DSC_3127

Happy Xmas (War is Over) // Celine Dion

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let’s hope it’s a good one
Without any fear

DSC_3156

Carol of the Bells // Kostia

Hark! how the bells
Sweet silver bells
All seem to say
“Throw cares away.”
Christmas is here
Bringing good cheer

DSC_3130

River // Sarah McLachlan

It’s coming on Christmas
They’re cutting down trees
They’re putting up reindeer
Singing songs of joy and peace
Oh I wish I had a river
I could skate away on

DSC_3135

Matthew’s Begats // Andrew Peterson

Akim was the father of Eliud then
He had Eleazar who had Matthan who had Jacob
Now, listen very closely
I don’t want to sing this twice
Jacob was the father of Joseph
The husband of Mary
The mother of Christ

Mary, Did You Know? // Pentatonix

Mary, did you know
That your baby boy will calm a storm with His hand?
Did you know
That your baby boy has walked where angels trod?
When you kiss your little baby
You’ve kissed the face of God

When Love Came Down to Earth // Stuart Townend

When Love came down to earth
And made His home with men,
The hopeless found a hope,
The sinner found a friend.
Not to the powerful
But to the poor He came,
And humble, hungry hearts
Were satisfied again.

Behold // Plumb

Years of silence
Waiting on a king
They thought they knew who you would be
A soldier, fearless and strong
A warrior, but they were wrong

O Come, All Ye Faithful // Mat and Savanna Shaw

O come, all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant!
O come ye, O come ye, to Bethlehem
Come and behold Him
Born the King of Angels
O come, let us adore Him

Here In My Arms // Rob Gardner

Here in my arms,
Robed in the moonlight,
Promise of old,
Newborn Salvation,
What shall I give?
What can I offer?

*sigh* Ahh, that was lovely. I hope you enjoyed that little playlist and photoshoot, my friends! As aforementioned, I usually write short Christmas stories around Christmas, but I didn’t this year. So here’s a “playlist” of my stories if you want to read them! Once again, Merry Christmas to you all! ❤

What are some of your favorite Christmas carols or songs? I’d love to hear in the comments!

Thanks so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!

    1. Thanks so much, Audrey! You too. ❤ HAHA YES. I like the song, but it would definitely get obnoxious after a while. The first time it is absolutely HILARIOUS, though.

  1. Merry Christmas Allison! Your photos are very wintery. 🙂 We had a white Christmas this year, as it started snowing late on Christmas Eve, and we got more than 5 inches! It’s been several years since we had a white Christmas, so that was really fun.
I also really like Matthew’s Begats, and especially the lines that you listed. I do also like Mary Did You Know, but I usually listen to it by the Gaither Vocal Band.
I don’t remember if I shared this song before, but I love Gesu Bambino by Maggie Beth Phelps (with David Phelps). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Cm8PSvWi_k
She is an amazing singer, and David Phelps’ daughter.
I’ve also really enjoyed listening to parts of Handel’s Messiah this year. I love the choruses O Thou That Tellest Good Tidings, Glory to God in the Highest and For Unto Us a Child is Born, as well as Comfort Ye My People.
