A Forest Photoshoot

Hello, dears!

I know it’s fall now and everyone’s looking for oranges and reds, but I wanted to quick sneak in some green photos before we get too much further into the season. πŸ˜‰ I took these a couple weeks ago when the light started taking on that golden fall look but the woods were still lush and green. I had so much fun editing these vibrant pictures – hope you enjoy them!

It’s so relaxing to walk around in the woods and just take pictures of pretty things. I especially had fun with contrast and depth this time. Also, why do I think random small things like this plant are cute? BUT LOOK. IT IS.

The glowy bokeh in this one makes it for me. Greens can look rather obnoxious in photos sometimes, but I love these shades! *heart eyes*

Ahh, I love how the deep shadows around the edge and glowy gold in the middle make this picture look like an enchanted forest. πŸ˜€

Pokeweed is generally an unsightly weed, but anything is pretty in golden hour, especially with a low aperture. πŸ˜‰

I came upon this little spot of sun illuminating a patch of brilliant green grass. It just sat there in the middle of the shadows, looking rather alone but cheerful. πŸ˜€

Ahh, this clearing in the woods was so pretty. It’s right beside a field, so if you stand here you see sunlit trees on your right and an open field of orchard grass on your left.

I guess the thing that kept intriguing me about these photos was the contrast of light and dark. Shadows really make the sun stand out, don’t they? πŸ™‚

I feel like this would be a perfect spot for a photoshoot, like a in a long dress or something.

I’ve taken so many pictures of this spot because the trees arch over the pathway and catch the golden hour light sooo perfectly.

Foxtails are one of the most photogenic things at golden hour. I mean, see?

The view from one side of our house. πŸ™‚

This one’s kind of random, but I was trying to capture the sparkling gnats in the air. πŸ˜› If you zoom in you can see what looks like fairy dust.

Lastly, some zinnia pictures because why not. It’s interesting to me how zinnias can have such a variety petal formations, even on the same plant.

See, like this one’s all fluffy and huge! I like this style best, what about you?

DSC_1007

We shall end with this little moth. It has such a funny, surprised expression if you zoom in. πŸ˜›

Welp, that’s all for now, dears. Hope you enjoyed some classic nature photography today! I can’t wait to share more fall-ish pictures with you in the future. πŸ™‚

Which photo was your favorite? Do you think random things like small plants and surprised moths are cute too or is it just me? πŸ˜›

Thanks so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!

  2. Oh my GOODNESS!!! These are so gorgeous, Allison! I mean, they look like stock photos! 😍 I love the photos of the zinnia. As you know, I am obsessed over flowers, so I see them all as lovely. Ha-ha, you are not the only one who finds random things cute. I mean, I consider the shape of certain cars adorable or the mini Kitchen Aid mixers and other things. My friends think I’m so weird. πŸ˜†

    1. Goodness, well thank you! ❀ I checked out your recent nature post and enjoyed the textures you captured outdoors! My suggestion would be to play around with editing your photos with a free software or app after taking them to make them pop even more. ❀
