giveaway winner

EVA! YAYYYYY, CONGRATULATIONS, DEAR! *throws confetti* WOOHOO! I will email you shortly about the details! πŸ˜€

To everyone else… I wish I could give you all prizes for how amazing and sweet you’ve been during the whole blog tour! You have no idea how much your excitement and incredibly kind words have meant to me. I read all of your comments on the various blog tour posts and AHHHHH. They just made me want to hug you all. ❀  You guys are great. πŸ™‚

And if you haven’t checked out the blog tour posts, definitely do that because sheesh, those bloggers did an incredible job! I loved seeing so many different perspectives on the book!

fall 11

Now. For those of you who want to get the book themselves (or add it to your Christmas list or get it as a gift for someone else!), here’s the link again:

Buy Spark Here.

Use coupon code LULU10 for 10% off your order through 11/7!

Please keep in mind that it takes them a couple of days to print the book before they can ship it, so for Christmas gifts, order sooner rather than later!

If you guys would like to order the other giveaway items (or add them to a cozy gift basket for someone!), here are the links:

I can’t give you links for the handmade playlist and art print, but… here is a cozy fall playlist similar to the “exclusive” giveaway one, great for listening to while you read Spark or other books! Enjoy some beautiful music, pretty fall pictures, and my favorite lyrics. πŸ™‚

fall 3

Orange, red; life and death
Scattered ’round the feet of the sycamore.
The waiting hands of winter
Catch us when we fall…

– “You Keep Your Promises,” by JJ Heller // This song was the first one on my autumn playlist because it’s so clearly about autumn, and the feeling it conveys both of both sadness at an end and of hope for a new beginning.

fall 1

Oh I know this song won’t do
Enough to prove my love to you.
In my heart you’ll always know,
There is a place only love can go:
There is a place only you can go.

A Place Only You Can Go,” by NEEDTOBREATHE // I love the (mostly) soft, heartfelt mood of this song, and I just love this band in general. πŸ™‚

fall 6

And the trees are now
Turning from green to gold,
And the sun is now fading.
I wish I could hold you
Closer.

Arwen’s Song,” by Peter Hollens // The melody and words are so hauntingly beautiful when sung by Peter Hollens, with his excellent voice.

fall 16

Oh, am I close to daylight? Oh, am I too far gone?
‘Cause the fire that once was bright has faded – now it’s gone.
Oh the rain, it takes my sorrow…

Rain,” by Sleep Man // Just perfect for rainy November days. πŸ™‚

fall 7

I would sing you songs of innocence
‘Til the light of morning comes,
‘Til the rays of gold and honey cover you
In the sweetness of the dawn –
But you’re always on the run.

Slow Your Breath Down,” by Future of Forestry // You could actually just shuffle this artist and voila! A cozy fall playlist. πŸ˜› Future of Forestry creates a bunch of amazing instrumentals and gorgeous songs with interesting lyrics like this one.

fall 15

I look on up to the sky;
I wonder why I put a filter between beauty and my eyes.
I look on up into your eyes.

Look On Up,” by Relient K // I found this song on Clara’s playlist post, and loved the words! They’re so beautiful and thought-provoking.

fall 12

Every time the shower runs
Orβ€Š the floorboards creak or the door slams shut,
Iβ€Š can hearβ€…yourβ€…voice when theβ€…dishes shake.
In the bedroom window, Iβ€…can see your face.

Hillside House,” by Wilder Woods // Ahh, this song has such a beautiful and heartfelt story to it! Plus, the artist is the lead singer of the band NEEDTOBREATHE, which I mentioned earlier.

fall 13

Every day
We go to war again.
We assume
We know so much more than them,
Before we hear what they have to say.
Headline breaks,
And we start to hate again.

“See the Love,” by The Brilliance // So these types of songs sometimes get on my nerves as being a little simplistic or trite, but I do really like this one because the lyrics are thought-provoking and humbling, and I like to have some of that in my playlist. πŸ™‚

fall 24.jpg

This is an instrumental song. πŸ™‚

Evacuating London,” by Harry Gregson-Williams // You could also just listen to the Narnia soundtrack and have a cozy fall playlist just with that! I absolutely love those movie tracks – they’re so full of awe and beauty. I had to include at least one instrumental song on this playlist! I think they get overlooked as boring, but they are definitely not all boring!

fall 14

“If you love her, let her go.”
She sings beautiful and slow
A tune that only caged birds know.

My Love Goes Free,” by Jon Foreman // The lyrics… ❀ I absolutely LOVE Jon Foreman’s music in general, especially because of his unique and deep themes. This one speaks wistfully about the sacrifice real love sometimes involves.

fall 8

If you were the ocean, I’d be the sand;
If you were a song, I’d be the band;
If you were the stars, then I’d be the moon;
A light in the dark, my darling, for you.

– “Boat Song,” by JJ Heller // A sweet, almost lullaby-like song that I still like after listening to it over and over. It’s also so fun to sing along with!

fall 2

Why did you go?
I had to stay;
Now I’m reaching for you.
Will you wait, will you wait?
Will I see you again?

Hymn for the Missing,” by Red // My oldest brother plays this on the piano all the time, and it’s one of the few songs I actually like by his favorite artists. XD A lot of Red’s songs are often more heavy-rock than I like, even if they are Christian. But this song is so powerful and poignant and quiet.

fall 4

Yeah, in this wasteland where I’m livin’
There is a crack in the door filled with light,
And it’s all that I need to shine.
Oh, if God is on my side
Then who can be against me?

Wasteland,” by NEEDTOBREATHE // This one is so encouraging and just pleasant to listen to. πŸ™‚ I love the metaphor of the wasteland and the crack with light streaming through!

fall 17

I could offer you my love,
But you won’t take it.
I would make a promise too,
But you would break it.
I may be the road less wandered,
But don’t let that sway you.

The Road Less Wandered,” by Aquilo // My friend Aria recently introduced me to this artist! I still wouldn’t say I like all of his stuff and his voice takes some getting used to, but I love the ambiance and contemplative mood of his songs. This one specifically is so pretty – I can relate to being “the road less wandered – but don’t let that sway you.”

fall 5

Sometimes ignorance
Rings true,
But hope is not in what I know.
It’s not in me:
It’s in You.

You,” by Switchfoot // A refreshing reminder to put God before ourselves – or that’s how I hear it, anyway! Switchfoot is my favorite band, so definitely check them out if you haven’t yet. They write powerful lyrics (usually a lot more complicated than in this song πŸ˜› ) and a large variety of Christian rock melodies. πŸ™‚

fall 23

That’s it for today, my friends! Thank you all once again for making this book launch a huge success. ❀ I hope you enjoyed reading all the different tour posts, and I hope you enjoyed this little playlist and some pretty photos too. πŸ™‚

Do you want to read Spark? Which of these songs and photos did you like best?

Thanks so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!

  6. Have you heard JJ Heller’s song, Star of Wonder? It is soooo good, and has been one of my favorite Christmas songs since I first heard it years ago. Ah, Red! I’ve seen that band live in concert once, and… let’s just say they’re not quite my cup of tea. The only hard rock I like is Skillet, Pillar, and one of the songs by Firefly. I might listen to that song you mentioned by Red, though. πŸ™‚

Lovely playlist, Allison! Those lyrics definitely paint a fall picture in my head. ❀

    1. Ooooh, that sounds great! I love JJ Heller, but… I haven’t started listening to Christmas songs yet. XD I have to wait til after Thanksgiving, RIGHT? *looks at you suspiciously* XD Anyway. HAHA, yeah, I would NOT like to go to a Red concert. But don’t worry, I don’t have any really hard rock songs on my playlist because they give me a headache. πŸ˜› Just the softer ones by hard rock artists.
      Anyway, YAY. Thank you, dear!

      1. I disagree with that. πŸ˜‰ I’ve been listening to lots of Christmas music, and it’s been great! πŸ˜€ It wasn’t just Red at the concert, thankfully. It was a concert with several artists, and I liked most of them, but Red…? Not so much. πŸ™‚ Yes, softer rock is much better.
