Wildflower-Themed Bedroom Tour

Hello, dears!

I’m SO excited for this post, ahh! The bedroom I share with my sister has been in the works for over a year now, since that’s how long it’s been since we moved, but it’s finally finished and we both love it! I think you guys will too. 🙂

Megan and I love the fresh, bright aesthetic as well as wildflowers and plants in general, so we combined the two to make a light, airy bedroom sprinkled with wildflowers and fun pops of color. If you’re looking for bedroom decor inspiration or just like seeing room tours (because who doesn’t?)… read on! And enjoy. 🙂

Welcome to our room…

room 31

Ta-daa! This is basically the color scheme and general plan of all the rest of the decor, right here in this photo. The proportions are a little off since I combined two pictures here, but you get the idea. Megan’s bed is on the right and mine is on the left. 😉

room 11

This is my bed/side of the room.

room 30

And this is Megan’s side.

room 27

Ahh, I love the flower walls and bright pillows with the fresh white, don’t you? I’ll have links to the bedspreads, dried flowers, and accessories later in the post.

room 1

We hung up two small letterboards on Megan’s wall, which she filled with a fitting quote. 🙂

room 10

White walls might seem boring, but they really help accentuate all the thoughtfully placed decorations and colors. Like so.

room 9

These dried flowers are probably my favorite part of our entire room. We got this box of 25 flower stems from Etsy, divided them in half, and then hung them on three strands of twine with mini clothespins. We used masking tape to hang up the twine, which actually worked really well. SO AESTHETIC, right? XD

room 26

This is my view from my pillow. 🙂 Such a lovely thing to wake up to!

room 16

We got almost all the bedding from Amazon, except for the pillow inserts and the navy blue sham, which we already had. Here are some links if you’re interested:

room 24

My youngest brother, Jeff, built a few floating shelves for us. I love their sturdiness, sleekness, and low profile. They make wonderful nightstands! I also love my alarm clock, which I found on Amazon as well, here. We bought the lamp at Walmart a long time ago.

room 15

My parents gave me these beautiful, minimal wall planters for my birthday, and I recently filled them with succulents. I hope they stay alive! 😛

room 14

Isn’t it GORGEOUS? I love succulents. ❤

room 13

Okay, let’s move to another side of the room now. My friend Aria gave me the gorgeous potted plant about a year ago, and it has since flourished and spread itself luxuriously all over our mantel. It’s over seven feet long and still growing! The fireplace is gas, sadly, but at least it looks neat. The rug is from wayfair.com, I believe, but Mom got it so I don’t know the details. 😉

room 29

The vining plant (anyone know what it’s called??) is one of the centerpieces of our room. The bright green goes so well with the other cheerful colors around our beds.

room 28

Now I’ll show you Megan‘s desk. But only briefly, because she’s going to give you a more in-depth tour soon. 🙂 You might guess, from looking at her space, that Megan loves donkeys and yellow. And you’d be right.

room 5

Mom repainted this old, brown desk as well as the chair for Megan.

room 23

I painted these flowers on her desk knobs with acrylic paint. It took a while, but they turned out pretty cute!

room 22

Her desk is almost too big to fit where it does; it slightly overlaps her bed and makes a pretty closed-in corner, but hey! It works.

room 2

This gallery wall is immediately to your left when you walk in the door. Megan and I spent a long time figuring out the layout of these super cheap but helpful frames from Walmart. Most of them came in this pack, and then we used one or two similar, small frames we already had.

room 20

You can find a lot of the art here for sale on my Etsy shop as printables, if you’re interested in recreating our gallery wall. 🙂 We also used scrapbook paper, photos from a book, actual art (the flowers on the top right are by Megan), and photo prints from this photoshoot.

room 21

And last but not least, we have the final little space in our room: this bookshelf topped by a canvas painting.

room 18

Mom repainted this bookshelf as well, and it looks SO much better than the ugly brown it was before. Its visible contents include a few of the books I own, two cute elephants Megan and I made in a sewing class years ago, Megan’s polaroid camera, and a little photographer figurine Jeff welded me for my birthday. 🙂

room 7

I shall end with this slightly more close-up look at the canvas. (If you want to see the whole thing in more detail, check out my Instagram account: @thecolorboxstudio.) It took me quite a while to paint, but I’m happy with how it turned out. 🙂 Wildflowers are so much fun to draw!

room 33

And that, my friends, shall conclude this extremely long room tour. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I love having such a bright and airy bedroom to relax (and take pictures) in. 😛 Hopefully this tour gave you some inspiration if you’re looking to redecorate or repaint your own room, and some encouragement that white walls don’t have to be boring!

If you liked this post, I’d be greatly obliged if you pinned this and shared the inspiration with others! Thank you so much. ❤

What was your favorite part of our room? What’s your favorite part of YOUR room? Do you love wildflowers too?

Thanks so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!

    1. AHHHH YAY I’M SO GLAD YOU LOVED IT. Yes, please do! XD I KNOW, RIGHT? I’m pretty proud of how long it got. XD It probably helped that I repotted it once and fertilized it twice recently with Miracle-Gro. 😛 Yep, she does still have it! She keeps all the donkey things – plus that picture is great. XD AHH I KNOW! But ooh, I didn’t. Yikes. That’s what comes of having brothers, I suppose. 😂 It makes me so happy that you liked the post, dear, and I really really want you to come see it in person too. *sigh* 💕

  2. Ahhh! It’s gorgeous! I looove the aesthetic-ness of it and all the flowers and just ah. ❤ ❤ I'm hoping someday to do a room maekover. It is desperately in need of one, not to mention three people living in it makes it cramped. 😛 It's pretty small, lol, but we somehow manage.

  3. *dies* Girls, your room is GORGEOUS! It’s so so pretty! It actually reminds me of a bedroom that I stayed in the Lake District…it was a farmhouse, plus it was very yellow and aesthetic! And, ooh, Megan’s desk really defines her character haha. You’ve actually motivated me to do something about my *cough* messy *cough* room. Great job, girls! You’re room is so beautiful with clean, white look! Xx

    1. AHHH THANK YOUUUU! Really? That’s super neat! Ha ha, it does, doesn’t it? XD Well YAY! Our room isn’t always that clean either, obviously, but spaces just look enormously better when they’re tidy, right? I mean, that’s almost a makeover in itself! XD

  9. Very nice! My favorite part was the photo frame/wall art display with the photos of you and Megan. I love it! Also, I adore Megan’s donkey setup. I think it would be a lot of fun to redecorate my room with a theme in mind, but I have not the space nor time (though I could make the time if needed, really). I’m curious how you like hard wood floor in your bedroom. I’ve always had carpet in my room. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Sassafras! I like how the gallery wall turned out too. 🙂 Hee hee, yeah! I like the hard wood floor fine, but that’s what I’ve usually had, so I guess I’m used to it. 😉 Do you like having carpet?

      Liked by 1 person

      1. Yes, I like having carpet, partially because I think having hardwood is colder, especially in the morning. I also used to play a lot on my bedroom floor, and I think carpet is better for that. What do you think are the benefits of hard flooring? 🙂

        1. Yeah, I will agree with you there. 😛 I like that hard flooring is easier to clean up after (for instance, if you happen to be painting a canvas on the floor and you get some paint on it… O.o), and I think it just looks nice. 🙂

Your room looks so beautiful and adultish!!!!! XD The vine draping over the fireplace is so pretty! And I love the flowers you painted on the knobs! They’re so gorgeous and well done! And I’m glad you framed those portraits from that photo shoot, they look so perfect! 😀

    1. HEH HEH, YEP. Unfortunately it’s gas so we never really use it, but at least it looks nice, and we also have a wood burning fireplace downstairs, so. 😉
Aww, I’m SO glad you like it, dear! Thanks so much! ❤ ❤
