Fields & Flowers

Hello, dears!

When I took the baling pictures a while back, I also got a bunch of summery farm photos in the fields nearby. The landscapes on this part of our land are lovely, with bright rows of crops and fences surrounded by buttercups and waving grass. I hope you guys enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them!

We shall begin with this entrance to the soybean field. So bright and sunny! And GREEN.

I actually combined two images taken at the same spot for this one because it’s almost impossible to get the sky and the land to be the proper exposure on their own.

This is the same section of land that held the buttercup field. Although that field is green again, you can still see patches of buttercups around. I like the bright yellow with the red of the truck!

Buttercups are some of the most cheerful flowers, don’t you think? They look perfectly at home by fences and gates.

Growing up on a farm gives you a real appreciation for nicely planted crops, heh heh. Fun fact: my dad uses a GPS program on his tractor to plant the rows an even width apart. šŸ™‚

It took me a while to learn the difference between orchard grass and fescue, the two main kinds of hay we grow and sell. Orchard grass has a larger, fluffy head like this…

And fescue has a spray of narrower seeds, like so.

These, on the other hand, are foxtails (and buttercups). Not so good for hay. šŸ˜›

I love how the waving grass makes this photo almost look like it’s moving.

field 7

I love the light and airy feel of this photo!

Barbed wire actually looks quite aesthetic sometimes, right? šŸ˜›

field 5

My favorite part of this picture is probably the background of puffy trees. They look like green clouds with a golden lining instead of a sunny one. šŸ™‚

field 2

We’ll end with an odd picture. I just noticed that the gate here looks like the corner was sliced off by the wire in the right corner. Doesn’t it? I guess I unknowingly stood at just the right angle for the grass!

I hope those sunny photos brightened your day a bit! I know this was a shorter post today, but I’m working on a really exciting one that will go up soon. (It may or may not have something to do with summer and boredom busters and a giveaway. šŸ˜‰ ) Until then…

Which photo was your favorite? Do nicely planted fields make you happy too? šŸ˜› And do you agree with me on the last picture?

Thanks so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!
