Fields & Fences {Sister’s Photoshoot}

Hello, dears!

A couple of weeks ago, I did a senior photoshoot for a friend of a friend’s son (well THAT was confusing), and practiced the day before with this little mini shoot of my youngest sister. πŸ˜€ Some of these poses worked better for a senior guy than a little girl, obviously, but she was the only volunteer, so I just went with it anyway. XD

Even though I didn’t use all the poses and locations in the real shoot, we had a lot of fun walking around the farm at golden hour and taking a bunch of photos. I hope you enjoy a sampling of the result!

We started outside our huge hay barn, against these lovely weathered walls. This first photo is one of my favorites! I like how bright and crisp it is.

After a bit, we went inside where the sun was streaming through the spaced boards and illuminating the dusty air. I had fun editing these next two pictures with a warm and fuzzy filter. πŸ˜› It’s not my usual style, but nice for different.

I found a perfect beam of light for her to pose in. πŸ™‚ If the ground wasn’t so dusty, I would have had her sit down, but as it was, I made do with this pose. It sort of worked…

2

Next, we went outside again to a little section of woods by the barn. I tried to pick a tree that didn’t have poison ivy on it for her to lean against. XD (That’s just Virginia Creeper climbing up the trunk, in case you wondered.)

5

After the woods, we drove up to this lovely spot beside a field. I didn’t actually get pictures of Carmen on the path, but here’s one of the path itself!

Instead of the path, we focused on the field and the lawn and trees beside it.

Isn’t this light so gorgeous with the bright green field?

11

Ahh, I love the bright green here.

8

Hee hee, this one is so cute. I think I told her to look up at the 245th leaf or something like that. XD

6

Carmen looks quite farm-girl-ish here. This photo sort of makes me think of some book or book cover…

7

Now for the fences. Ahh, that glowy, hazy effect is so pretty!

9

Her expression looks a bit tired-of-being-photographed (she wasn’t), but otherwise I really like this one! πŸ˜›

10

We shall end with a girl and her dog. XD Maggie insisted on following us around, but amazingly she only got in this one photo.

And that’s it for this short, sunny photoshoot! I hope you enjoyed it, my friends! Hopefully my other sister Megan and I can do a whole sisters photoshoot in the big hay barn sometime, maybe with bunnies. πŸ™‚ Until then…

Which photo was your favorite? Do you prefer barns, fields, or fences as backdrops? Do you ever take pictures of your siblings or family?

Thank you so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!

P. S. Photos taken with my Nikon D3400 and, I believe, a 35mm lens.

  3. Allison. the barn one is quite special. As if Carmen has dropped in as Superman did..:-). All the pictures are amazing. You are lucky for staying in the countryside as you have so many subjects around you at all times.

  4. Great photos, Allison! Carmen posed well for you. πŸ™‚ I know that it isn’t one of Carmen, but I love the picture inside the barn where the sunlight is streaming in. It’s so serene and rustic. I think my favorite picture of Carmen is the second-to-last one where she’s sitting by the fence. πŸ™‚
