Signs of Spring {2019}

Hello, dears!

It is now March, that agonizing month when the sun shines brighter, things start growing, and spring finally seems around the corner… until we get a big snow at the end of the month. -_- Heh heh. Who knows whether the snow will happen this year, but for now, I’m just enjoying the signs of spring while they last! Enjoy these sunny pictures, my friends!

We have very few flowers here so far, but the one budding/blooming tree is budding/blooming in our backyard is lovely.

Aren’t these “flowers” interesting?

I thought this nearly neon lichen would make for a cheery backdrop. 🙂

In case you’re wondering, I did use my macro lens extensions for some of these pictures, like the following. I adore capturing the tiny details and intricate structure of… well, almost everything!

5

I took these pictures after a rain, so these tiny speedwell flowers were all sodden and closed up… but still pretty, with their delicate blue petals.

How could I not post some more rain drop pictures, right? 😉

Even though this is a pretty cliche picture, I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of the beauty of sunlit, dew-laden grass. ❤

I can’t wait until this rhododendron blooms!

15

A few pansies managed to survive the winter. I love the various, velvety shades of purple they wear.

AHHH I LOVE THIS ONE! So much purple. ❤

We planted a couple of succulents in an old stone chimney last fall, and although they had a hard time of it, they’re still alive!

Their nearly perfect structure never fails to amaze me.

And that’s it for this rather short post. I hope you enjoyed this little breath of spring through photos!

Does it look like spring where you live? Are you excited for the warmer weather or are you hoping for one more snow? Succulents or pansies?

Thanks so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day. ❤

  1. HOORAY FOR SPRING! These pictures are beautiful, Allison! ❤ I especially love the dew drop pictures and the last succulent photo. 🙂 There are so many signs of spring here – everything is green and there are flowers everywhere! However, it's supposed to freeze tonight and our pear trees are already blooming – this happened last year and all the flowers died and we didn't get any pears. 😦 *sets up a tree-sized space heater* XD

  2. Where I live the snow has just started. It will be another 2 months until we get any flowers.
By then I hope to have aquired a macro lense for just that sort of thing.

  3. Gorgeous! I can’t wait for Spring – though the weather here can’t seem to make up its mind! One minute it’s brilliant sunshine and I’m walking around in a t-shirt and then the next moment it starts hailing XD xx

  6. So pretty!! Ahh I am very much ready for spring- we’ve been on an endless cycle of snow, rain, ice, melt 😣 It cleared up for a while, but then we got snow again yesterday 😭 I love both succulents and pansies-the structure of succulents is so neat, but I also love the bright colors of the pansies. 🙂 Great pics!

  7. *sniff* I want spring. It’s so beautiful…. but here I am drowning in snow and yet another blizzard is forecasted for this weekend. I’m just thankful to see the sun once a week.

In the college where I’m taking a few classes the snow is above our heads in the long tall windows, so we can’t see out anymore.

    Thanks for sharing the spring!

  9. Well it definitely doesn’t look like spring here. XD We still have a lot of snow. March is still pretty much winter in Alaska. It will probably start melting in a few weeks, but we won’t be rid of it til like the middle of April.
I’m really excited for spring cuz there will be a lot going on! I’m excited to get out in the warmer weather and at the end of this month I get to usher for The Little Mermaid musical which my roommate is helping out with backstage. She is also playing Ariel’s stunt double so she gets to be the one on the harness and flying through the hair to make it look like she’s swimming in some scenes! I’m really excited to see it.
Also I’m working on my fantasy book and getting ready for Camp Nano in April! So at least I have a lot to look forward to. 🙂
I’m not much of a plant person, but I definitely like blooming flowers better than leafy plants. 😉

    1. Oh DEAR! I guess that makes sense, living in Alaska and all, but… XD Yay, that sounds SO exciting! I hope you all have fun with the play. 🙂 WOOHOO! Yeah, I tend to like them better too, although succulents make that a hard decision… XD Thanks for the comment!
