Bullet Journal Setup 2019

Hello, dears!

HAPPY NEW YEAR! Now that it’s officially 2019, I decided it’s time to try a new layout for my bullet journal. 😉 This time, I went with something super simple but still pretty – namely, washi tape! 😀 I got a bunch of GORGEOUS tapes for Christmas (more on that in a later post), and I had so much fun using them throughout this spread!

I kept the first part of my bujo simple so I had more time to work on… some exciting Etsy news pertaining to bullet journals. 😉 More on that at the end of the post. Keep reading if you like bujos or planners! 😉

Alright. This is my Welcome 2019 page. I don’t love how the colors and elements go together, but oh well, I won’t be seeing it much. *shrugs* I added my yearly goals to the bottom and wrapped a piece of washi tape over the edge of the page, as I did last time. (And no, I’ve still not found my wallet, if you were reading the journal entries. XD)

bujo 1

This is definitely one of my favorite spreads, despite the annoying wrinkle that happened when I was erasing my pencil sketch. :/ I love how simple yet elegant it is with the minimalist fonts and numbers and the coordinating washi tape. I got the idea for this spread here.

bujo 2

These pages are pretty similar to how I formatted them last year… but with washi tape. 😉

bujo 3

I really like writing the title across both pages like this if you’re making a two-page spread.

bujo 4

This is also similar to my last “books” spread, but I thought I’d draw the books as I go, since last time I had so many empty books at the end of each month that it was kind of depressing to look back on. :’D

bujo 5

Heh heh, I think I’ll need at least two pages for my post ideas this time. 😉 Any of those look particularly appealing to you? I’m hoping to post them all eventually, but WHEW, it will take a while! XD Also I like the asymmetric title here – just a subtle, simple detail that makes it more interesting.

bujo 6

We have now come to the monthly spreads. I didn’t use trackers last year, but I thought I’d try them out in 2019. Neither of these pages are updated or completed, but so far I like them both! I kept my habit tracker super simple since I’m going to have to make a new one every month. It would look odd to have just a narrow swath of tracker in the middle of the page, so I added some extra-wide washi tape to fill in the sides. 😉

bujo 7

This spread is pretty confusing, even to me. XD I didn’t plan it out very well… Anyway, on the left I sectioned the page into my various sources of income, and on the right, made spaces to keep track of business and personal spending. And then that awkward little box in the middle is for totals. XD Next month I shall try and improve this layout.

bujo 9.jpg

Well THIS one’s boring. As you can see, I haven’t done much with this page yet. I got a lovely 5-year journal (more on that in the Christmas gift post) that I’m going to use for my daily entries, which means I can keep things super simple in my bujo by just writing down to-dos. Yay, more room for checklists! 😀

bujo 8

Okay, NOW! I’m super excited to say that I’ve launched a bullet journal printables set on my Etsy shop! I really wish I’d got on it sooner so I could put it out before New Year’s, but… The rest of the pages in this post are using the January printables (which you can buy here.) Keeping the rest of my bullet journal simple allows me more time for making prettier spreads to sell! 😀 I love the theme for this month if I do say so myself. 🙂 ❤

January Etsy !

Last year, my monthly calendars were too small: I hardly had enough space to write all the events down. This year I shouldn’t have a problem, though. 😉

January Etsy 1

I honestly don’t use mood trackers, but I know a lot of people do, so I drew one to include in the printable set. It’s kind of like a mini daily coloring page. 😀

January Etsy 3

And… that’s it for now! I consistently used my bujo during 2018 and I plan on doing the same this year. It really helps keep track of everything. I’m super excited to continue the bujo printables – I plan on putting out a new themed pack each month, as well as making a “variety pack” where you can choose from a bunch of fun spreads like book and birthday trackers, a gratitude page, and maybe even a page to hold samples of all your washi tape. 😉

January Etsy 4

What was your favorite of the pages in this post? Do you have a bullet journal or planner? What about tips for using it? And do you have any suggestions for what type of bujo printables I should add to my shop next?

Thanks so much for reading, dears, and have a lovely day!

  1. So neat! I find your bullet journal posts so inspiring…I just don’t have a bullet journal, LOL. I’m doing something this year that is the closest to one I’ve ever gotten!

  2. Ahh, your bullet journals are always so lovely and just plain aesthetic. I’ve tried multiple times to bullet journal, and for some reason it’s just never worked for me. XD Also, I love that washi tape that looks like marble. 🙂

  3. Oh my goodness! I love the whole blue January theme, it’s so pretty! I would love to have a bullet journal, but I think I’d be too busy to actually use it. For now, I just use a calendar for organizing my life and I have a journal where I write down my thoughts. Great post! ❤

  5. Allison this is STUNNING. I wish my bullet journal looked like this. XD Unfortunately I don’t have washi tape, I don’t have patience, and all the beautiful stuff is actually distracting for me. I’ll just settle with looking at other people’s beautiful bujos. 🙂

(Did my letter come? 🙂 )

  7. AHH, your bullet journal is so pretty! ❤ I love how it's very organized but artistic at the same time. 😀 The bullet journal printables you made are gorgeous – I bet lots of people will want to use them! As for suggestions for future bujo printables… how about a watercolor flower theme, a bunny theme, or a blogger/photography theme? 🙂

  9. This is so aesthetic! I just got a new planner. I also just made my own reading journal and… journaling journal? XD One to keep track of books, one to write daily journal entries in. In my planner I keep track of dates and goals. I would make a BuJo but I’m too much of a perfectionist and would freak out if I messed up the layout and it would probably do me more bad than good. XD Great post, and good luck with your Etsy shop! I still really need to buy your poetry book…

    1. Aww, thanks, Mya! HAHA! XD Those both sound wonderful! Yeah, it’s hard for me as well not to get too perfectionistic with my bullet journal. Thank you so much, Mya – sounds great! 😉

  10. Ooh yay! I love your Bujo posts soo much (in fact, it was because of you I started BuJoing). Useing washi tape is a really good idea, I got a lot of tape for Christmas too and now I’ve got somewhere to use it! Also, your printables are gorgeous!!!

  11. I really admire you for keeping a planner like that, Allison! It sounds silly, but I wouldn’t really have time for it. 😛 But then again, I probably don’t need one, because I don’t do that many different things. I really like your printables, though, and I think it’s a great idea for a bullet journal! I actually knew yesterday that you had made them, because I was looking at your Etsy shop. 🙂 Also, this is a random thought, but I love washi tape! It’s so fun to use. 🙂

P.S. I (finally) sent you an email yesterday! I wanted to let you know so that you definitely get it. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much! No, that makes sense! I totally understand not having time, but in my case, if I make time for planning, it helps me use the rest of my time more efficiently. 😉 If that wasn’t too confusing. 😛 Aww, why thank you! YES I LOVE WASHI TAPE TOO! 😀
      P. S. Ooh yes, I was so happy to see it – thank you so much! I can’t wait to reply. 🙂

  12. Oh those blue wintry watercolor trees are so pretty! I’ll have to try something like that sometime. 🙂
I have a planner and I’m going to use a separate bujo with it to specifically use for all my books that I read, like pages for wishlists of books that I want, what I’m planning to read every month, a place to write down my favorite quotes from them and stuff like that. 🙂 It’ll be fun!

    1. Thank you so much! Well it takes a little while to set it up for the year, but after you get it set up, it only requires a few minutes every day! 🙂 I’m glad to hear I’ve inspired you. Thanks for visiting!

  14. Amazing setup! You’re really good at bullet journaling 😀 I’ve been wanting to do a bullet journal for a while, so I set one up in a regular notebook with the promise that if I can keep up with it until I run out of space, I’ll invest in some nicer supplies. 😛

  15. You have, once again, inspired me – I wasn’t planning on trying a bullet journal again this year (after the failure of last year’s O_O) but now I actually want to!! Wish me luck – I’ll need it! XD Beautiful layouts, though!
