Falling Again

Heh heh. Aren’t my puns great? *Sigh* Yes, I know they’re awful. ANYWAY, I’m super excited to show you guys these fall pictures! I’ve been saving them up for a while now and I finally get to post them. 🙂

First I want to show you our beautiful ombre maple tree. 😀 Well actually the leaves are all fallen from it now, but this is how it used to look. Isn’t it lovely?

DSC_2463 (853x1280)

One of the other maples beside our lane was absolutely gorgeous this year! Especially with the sun shining through the leaves… ah, it was beautiful.

I LOVE these pumpkin pictures! 😀

And back to the tree again. This bokeh… OH MY GOODNESS! ♥

I really like the composition of the next one. (Wow, I’m doing a lot of portrait, vertical photos aren’t I? Here’s a question: Should I make them smaller so you can see them without scrolling, or do you like them full size as they are?)

DSC_3309 (853x1280)DSC_3306 (1280x853)DSC_3250 (1280x853)

Leaves can make even dusty black trucks pretty. 🙂

DSC_3239 (1280x853)

I promise I didn’t put the leaf there. Isn’t the position so neat and funny?

DSC_3236 (1280x853)

And of course we musn’t forget the classic holding-a-leaf-up picture, am I right?

DSC_3233 (1280x853)

Ooh, and then I got several adorable pictures of Maggie looking all dejected. 😛

DSC_3222 (1280x853)DSC_3218 (1280x853)

HA HA Maggie looks like she’s havng an intent conversation with a leaf or something and the leaf just said something shocking. XD What would you caption this photo? (No winners this time – just for fun. 😉 )

Here’s a fun fall photography prompt: try to find fall leaves in a half-rainbow, from red to green. Arrange them in an ombre pattern and snap away! 🙂 I had a lot of fun with this, but it also took FOREVER to collect the leaves.

Huh, what do you know. I’m wearing the same skirt as in this post. (I promise I don’t wear it every Sunday. XD )

I rather like this edit.

And lastly, just a few edited photos. I spent SUCH a long time trying to capture a leaf falling. XD

And we end with a photo featuring a picturesque (?) four-wheeler? Okay…

Alright, you got to the end. *applause* Actually, you didn’t. Let me talk for a bit first.
Ahem. Some people mentioned in the survey that they don’t love scrolling through so many pictures in my photography posts, and I definitely understand that. I always try to cram a ton in. XD So I shall attempt to be a little more picky and not burden you with so many at once. What do you think? More photos, which might contain some less quality photos, or less photos, but more quality ones?
Also it seems like I kind of failed my goal with this post, but let me tell you, I was much more selective than normal. IT WAS SO HARD. THERE ARE SO MANY PICTURES TO SORT THROUGH.
Thank you guys so, so much for taking my survey, by the way! I can’t please everyone nor am I going to try, but it really is helpful to hear your thoughts. ♥ Thus, my goals are…
  1. Condense my photography posts a little. And post more people and pet photography rather than mostly random nature photos like I just did.
  2. Keep my header but maybe change the theme and clean up the sidebar. (Question: do you ever use the category pictures on my sidebar? If not, I’ll just delete them.)
  3. Make more art posts and start up with Art Lab again! The thing is, it’s a little hard to do a collab art blog with just me posting… heh heh. I want to get that figured out too. Anyway, I already have a fun Art Lab post in mind which I will hopefully post maybe Saturday or Sunday.
  4. Make featured images for all my posts, not just some, for more cohesiveness.
Okay, I am FINALLY done with this post. Thank you so much for bearing with me, dears, and listening to my many questions! Do you have a favorite photo? What do you think of my four goals?
Have a lovely fall day!
***Allison***

P. S. GUYS. I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING ELSE. If you type this: :{), it looks like an emoji with a mustache. WHY IS THAT NOT A THING? Oh, right. Probably because it’s completely useless. True. BUT STILL. Okay, I’m actually done now.

  1. Allison, great photos!!! I love them!!! The rainbow leaf idea is SOO neat!!! You’ve got a great eye for photography, it must run in the family 😀

    1. Thank you SO much, Gracie! I love the rainbow leaves too, hee hee! Aww, thanks. I guess it kind of does because my grandaddy is a photographer, my aunt is a professional photographer, and then Megan and I are. 🙂
Ha ha, that would be so fun! I have to say, it’s a pretty photogenic farm. 😉

  2. Great photos, Allison! They’re so pretty and fall-ish. Isn’t Autumn just so beautiful? 🙂 The half-rainbow idea with leaves was really fun. I really like the second picture of that. Also, that last picture is fun. I personally don’t mind having a lot of photos in a post, but I agree that maybe it would be good if you cut back a little bit. Perhaps you could just do more photography posts and spread out the photos? I’m not sure if that’s a good idea, but I really do enjoy seeing your photography. I generally don’t use the category links on the side, but you shouldn’t get rid of them, because they are useful when I am trying to find an old post or something on your blog.

    1. Thanks, Sassafras! I know, it IS! 🙂
Ooh, thanks for the advice! That’s a good idea to spread them out a bit. And okay, good to know. 😉 What do you think about just having a Category dropdown or cloud so it wouldn’t take up so much room? It also wouldn’t look as pretty, but it would be less cluttered…
Thanks again for the comment, dear! ♥

      1. You’re welcome! I’m glad you like my advice. 🙂
Yes, a category dropdown menu might be a good idea. It definitely wouldn’t take up as much space, so if that’s what you want, then I would say do it! 🙂
        You’re welcome again, Allison! 🙂

  3. Oh wow I am inspired and in love and inspired by the fall color and the dog too, I’d say he’s probably thinking who’s disturbing my piece. My roxy does that sometimes it’s like all is calm and she spring her head up. Anyway I love your photos and why last night I missing them so when I saw this today I was excited. I don’t use the categories and the art lab is cool. No I don’t use the categories. Oh the leaves and the trees have given me painting ideas!

  4. Soo pretty! Autumn is such beautiful season (and really quite an amazing piece of God’s creation!)! I haven’t really minded when you have long photography posts. I like nature photography, too 🙂 . As for full-sized or smaller photos, I prefer if they are sized so that I can see the whole thing on the screen, so I can take it all in rather than trying to scroll up and down to see it. And as for the sidebar category pictures, I personally don’t really use them. I kinda like their design, but I think I’ve used them only once or so.
The rainbow leaves is a really neat prompt!! And I think the four-wheeler is picturesque! I like that it is a red four-wheeler among the fall-colored leaves!
    Let’s see… Maggie caption…
Maggie: *looking despondently at the leaves* Allison, why won’t they play with me?
    Or…
Maggie: I can hardly bear to look. All these poor trees losing their coats!
And again, Lovely pictures and post! I enjoy seeing the fall colors on your farm!

Again, thanks for your comment, dear! ♥ So glad you enjoyed the post!

  6. Your photography is stunning! It makes me so excited for fall 🙂 One thing that Wix allows you to do is to make a photography gallery, and it puts your photos into a sort of slideshow that goes on its own. I’m not sure if WordPress can do the same thing, but maybe there’s an app you can get or something!

  7. Oh my gosh, I LOOOOVE these photos Allison. We call it autumn in the UK, but ‘fall’ is my absolute favourite season. I’m not sure which word I prefer??? Autumn sounds pretty and warm, but fall is dramatic and captures an image of leaves falling from branches.

The colours are stunning, it’s beginning to get colder (but not too cold), there’s bonfires *squeals with excitement* and there’s pumpkins to gaze at and eat!

What more could you want?! 😁😁😁

  8. Your photos are beautiful! Our leaves don’t get very red or orange before falling off, so it was so nice to see that yours are. Most of the leaves around here are still green, actually!
I’m really looking forward to your changes – especially more ArtLab posts! And to answer your question, I don’t really use the category images.

…and YES to the emoji mustache! That needs to be a thing!

    1. Aww, thanks! *Sniff* Really? That’s sad. 😦 Hopefully they change too!
Ooh, great! Yes, I like making and reading Art Lab posts, so I’ll try to do those more often. 😉 And great, thanks for the feedback!
      YES I KNOW, RIGHT? :{D

  9. Why can’t the leaves be like that here? THEY ARE STILL GREEN! But, I guess it’s nice to see other peoples yards are changing. Maybe that’s the downside of living in the South. Anyway, your pictures were lovely, and I always enjoy your photography post. I don’t think they’re too long but hey, it’s just my opinion. Now, I better leave before I write a book XD

  11. Hahaha… It does look like an emoji with a mustache. I’m totally using that soon. I personally don’t mind scrolling through all the great photos. I know how hard it is to choose when you think all of them are great, but if I was to provide any insight I’d say whichever option you prefer because that’s the one you’ll be giving your all to. That’s all that matters.

P.S – I loooooove your photos… Crisp, clear and you obviously take your time to edit them and share with us even though you don’t have to, so thaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaank you and thumbs up to you 👍👍👍

              1. Thanks… I do too. To be honest I really don’t know… Haha. I just need an affordable start up camera that I can grow with as I learn the tricks of the trade. I’d appreciate any pointers you can offer in choosing a good one to start with.

                1. Ha ha, ooh, okay! Well for a start up camera that’s still a good one, I’d highly recommend the Nikon Coolpix L840. That’s the one I had before my current DSLR, (well, I had an older model), and I loved it!

Our leaves go so fast – two big, beautiful maples in our neighborhood are already rapidly losing their leaves. :,{) Ah yes, MUSTACHE EMOJIS! 13. YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY IS AMAZING.❤️I know I comment something along those lines on every post, but how can I not?!? Sadly, where I live the leaves are still green and they haven’t started falling yet…but fall usually comes for us in November anyway, so I guess I was expecting it. 😉 I always love your photography posts and really enjoy scrolling through all your photos, but I will be happy with whatever you post. Best of luck with your goals!

My favorite photo was the ones of the rainbow of leaves, SO creative! 😀 I think your changes sound good, I don't personally use your sidebar photos, but I think they look pretty! I think you should listen to what people are recommending, but in the end I think you should make your own decisions as to what YOU want YOUR blog to be and look like. 😉

I hope that was helpful..? 😉

Maggie: Oh boy… everybody freeze! Maybe she won’t see us.
