Raindrops {Photo Dump} + A Favor?

Some days I step outside, look around, and go right back in for my camera because it’s too beautiful not to. I love just walking around, taking pictures of the little beauties I find. Because that’s how to be a good photographer, you know. You have to go looking for photo opportunities, not just wait for them to find you.

Sometimes the best photos are of the little things no one else takes time to notice. I like to think that through your camera lens, anything can be beautiful. ♥ Even thorns.

  1. Oh my goodness yes! To everything! I can’t decide on the pictures. As much as I love the snail one I probably wouldn’t enter it just because the snail is the tiniest tiniest bit out of focus. (not trying to be mean here!!!!) I really like the butterfly and the one of your Dad. The one of your Dad is unique, which I think the judges would appreciate. There probably will be other pictures entered of landscapes and mountains and bugs, and that’s awesome too!

    Don’t mind the rambling, dear!

    1. Hee hee, why thank you, Olivia!
And thank you for your advice! No, I don’t think that was mean at all – it was quite helpful, actually. I agree, it is a bit blurry. And yes, I like the one of Dad too because it’s unique. 😉
      Thanks for your comment! 😀

  2. Your raindrop photos are so pretty, Allison!
For the wildlife photo, I think you should do the snail, but both are really good!
All your landscape photos are gorgeous, but my personal favorite is the “golden dust” one. But they are all really good, so you should do whichever one you like best.
For the people category, I think you should enter the one of your dad-it’s a fun photo, and the lighting is really pretty!
And lastly, I like the “fall evening” one for the landscape category.
Yes, I would love to see the things you are entering in the fair! I hope you do really well! 🙂

Ooh, thanks so much for the advice, and for telling me why you like those certain ones. 😉 That was helpful.
Okay, sure! Maybe I’ll do a post of what I entered and any prizes I after the fair…?

  6. Great pictures! Waterdrops are so fun to photograph. Those zinnias are very pretty; the last one looks like it’d make a great computer background 😉 ! The beetles are really interesting, and… even… pretty! The last picture before the fair ones looked to me like it could be a place in a movie 😀 .
As for the fair ones, I like “golden dust” and your dad. I’m not really sure about the wildlife… I like that the butterfly seems clearer, but the snail picture is so cool! For landscape, I like the sunset or the first rural picture! I think I’m leaning towards the first rural picture since it seems more lanscape-like to me, though the sunset is stunning. Good luck with your entries!

    1. Thank you so much, Gracie! I know, right?! I love water drops! Aww thanks. You’re free to use the zinnia one for a background if you like. 😀 And ha ha, it kind of does! Or it looks like a writing prompt or something.
Thanks so much for the votes! That was quite helpful. 🙂

For rural I LOVE the golden dust! It looks so magical!
For people I like the one of your dad. 🙂 I like the angle of how you can see him through the mirror.
And for the landscape the sunset is really pretty, but I like the fall evening one for the landscape. I like the bright green rolling hills and the bright blue sky. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Clara! Actually I used Megan’s camera (my old camera) for the raindrop photos, because my camera isn’t working properly and I sent it back to get fixed. So I just used a Nikon Coolpix L830. 🙂
Thanks so much for your votes! And yay! I’ll probably do a post on my entries and prizes if I win any after the fair. 🙂

      1. Oh, okay! Wow, I really hope your camera gets back to you soon. That must be pretty disappointing for it to break so soon after you got it. 😦

        1. Yeah, me too! Yes, it was kind of a bummer. 😦 But that always seems to happen to me. XD Unfortunately I go through cameras quite fast, and they usually meet their demise at the beach, even if I’m really careful. 😡 *Sigh* Oh well, I just hope the warranty covers it and it will come back as good as new!

  13. Wow! I can tell you pay so much attention to detail. Your photos are really incredible. I totally feel how you do when you go outside and realize you need to run back inside to grab your camera! Btw what do you shoot with? Your photos are all so sharp despite some of your subjects being so tiny!

    1. Aww thank you sooo much! Yes, I love details! 😀 I know, right? Thank you! For the raindrop photos I used a Nikon Coolpix L830. I would highly recommend it! You’d want to get the L840, which is the newer model, though. 🙂

I LOVE THAT GOLDEN DUST PICTURE! That’s really neat!!! 😉 Great job! I wish I had of gotten my camera out with me this morning. There was a barn swallow feeding her babies in a nest in our barn. It was SO SWEET! I don’t know how good my camera could have caught it though without a lot of blurring.. Anyways, those were awesome pics though!! I love all your snail pictures! SNAILS ARE SO CUTE!!
