Flashbacks + Christmasy Photos

Hej! 😀 (That’s hello in Swedish. Just wanted to make sure you’re alive and watching for typos.)

Ahem.

On my survey, one of the post suggestions was flashbacks, and I thought that would be a good idea. I’ve gotten so many new followers lately who have missed out on all of the wonderful, long-ago posts I did. Heh heh. XD

Anyway, since I can’t hardly bring myself to post just a page full of links, I sprinkled in some Christmas photos for good measure. Warning: do not judge my photography by these photos. XD Hee hee, some of them aren’t the best quality, but I think they’re neat anyway. 😉 Maybe next year I will have some stunning Christmas tree photography to show you, because by then I’m sure I’ll be an expert at my camera. 😛

We got our Christmas tree last Saturday! It took us forever, and the one we decided on was rather smaller than usual, but it was fun nonetheless. 🙂 Plus it looks pretty cute in our living room.

I really like this photoshoot I did last year. Click here to see some warm and summery pictures from a May walk.

I absolutely LOVE the bokeh in this picture, even though the picture itself isn’t that great of quality. :/

Ah yes, good ol’ Chopped. We still play this game sometimes. Click here to read “Chopped!”, a fun cooking game for kids. Let me tell you, sometimes the cooks’ entries are rather… how shall we say it… interesting. XD But fun. Always fun.

I’m still proud of this post. I just love how the pictures turned out! Click here to see “The Beauty of a Dandelion.”

Our friends gave us this adorable acorn ornament.

I love this place! Click here to read about one of my favorite places on our farm.

We made these fun button ornaments one year. For some reason I really like buttons. XD

I remember when we found this! It was pretty amazing to find a real bee tree. Click here to see a few pictures of a bee tree we found last year.

Christmas trees just wouldn’t be Christmas trees without lights, right?

SQUEEE! Lily was so TINY! Click here to read about my bunny Lily when she was just a wee fluff.

Another handmade ornament…

It was amazing to get to see this little guy turn into a chrysalis before our eyes. Click here to watch a swallowtail caterpillar transform.

Now this one is NOT handmade. XD

This was fun! Click here to read about “The Great Hot Air Balloon Chase.”

More bokeh!

Ooh, I should make one of these again. Click here to see how to make a creative, personalized card.

We find so many weird eggs in our chicken houses. Click here to read about some of them. (By the way, that reminds me of a thing I saw a thing on Pinterest about a farmer finding a whole egg inside of an egg. Pshaw, we’ve found a bunch of those. XD )

SO SQUISHY! Click here to see a little photoshoot of a bear I made for a friend.

Maybe it’s playing “Joy to the World…”

And last but not least, a review of 2015 with LOTS of photos included. I’m planning on making a post like this for 2016 too. If I thought last year was a big year, what about this year?! This year was huge! Anyway, click here to see read a review of 2015. (Guys, it’s almost 2017 already. WUT?!)

I hope you enjoyed this post, and had fun browsing through the links. 🙂 Do you get a Christmas tree? Do you cut your own, buy one from a store, or set up an artificial tree? We always cut ours down from a tree farm. *Happy sigh* So fun! 😀

P. S. I just discovered that a.) the little twisty thing on my camera is a focus ring, and b.) IT WORKS! My old camera didn’t have  a focus ring, and at first I was kind of disappointed that my new one didn’t seem to be focusing very well. Oops. Heh heh. Nowwwww, I get it. XD

P.S. I mailed your letters today! Sorry it took an extra couple days, but I worked on some extra packaging things and then I just barely missed the mailman! O_O XD 😛

    1. Aww, thank you, my friend! 😀 Yep, it’s fun, but sometimes I kind of cringe a little. XD
      P. S. Yayayayayayayay! I can’t wait to read them! Aww, that’s okay. Those things happen – I titally understand!

  2. Fun! I’m planning on looking at a couple of these posts, they sound great! We have an artificial tree (20 bucks at Goodwill; score! XD lol). I bet a real tree is really neat! And probably smells amazing!

    1. Yep! 😀 Ooh, yay! Ha ha, yes, a real tree IS really neat! And it smells good, but after a while you get used to the smell and can’t smell it very much…

  3. I love reading flashbacks! Awww, wittle tiny Lily is so CUTE! 😮
All of your Christmas photos are super pretty! The button ornament is cool. 😀 We’re probably getting our tree today! We usually get one from a local tree farm, but because the drought has been so bad this year, all the farm trees are extremely dry and brittle. :/ So off to Lowes we go! 😛 Oh well, it’ll still be fun. 😉

    1. Yay, I’m glad! 😀 I KNOW, RIGHT?!
Aww, thank you! Ooh, that’s so exciting! Goodness, that drought was quite a bummer, wasn’t it? That’s sad. 😦 I did actually hear about a Christmas tree shortage… oh well, like you said – at least you get a tree! 😀

      1. You’re welcome!
Yeah, I figured you’d be a little disappointed. 😉 But no one in my family minds. I enjoy putting together our Christmas tree, and I think it looks pretty every year! But I do understand the appeal of real trees. 🙂

  4. I enjoyed all your photography, and the two homemade ornaments look so cool, especially the button one! Did you do a post on how to make it? I didn’t really look at any of the links, except for the egg one, that was so weird! I know about double and triple yolks, but eggs inside of eggs? So weird. 😉 But, anywho… uh, oh, yeah! 😉 We do get a Christmas tree, we hike into the forest around our home (we live surrounded by mountains and forests) and this year we hiked a long way and down into a really big ravine to find the perfect tree! It is beautiful! I also decorate my bedroom, I wish I had a way to share pictures with you…. 😦
Are you participating in the Christmas Card Exchange Maddi is doing? I am! 😀
But, anyway, I enjoyed this post! Have a Merry Christmas!

    1. Thank you for the lovely comment, Livy! 😀
Aww, thank you! Yes, I love that one too! Nope, I didn’t do a post, but here’s the simple how-to: you will need a small Styrofoam ball, some sewing pins (we used pretty shimmery ones), lots of buttons, and some thin string. Just poke a pin through a button hole to attach the button. Once you’ve covered the ornament, stick in two extra pins at the top, but leave a good part of them sticking out. Tie the string around the handle and hang! I hope that was a good enough explanation. 😉
I know, isn’t that so weird?
Wow, that sounds like SO much fun! You must live in a really pretty place! What kind of tree do you get? (A cedar, white pine, etc.) Aww, yes… Ooh, I know! You could email them to me if you want!
I don’t think I’m participating in that, but Megan might be!
Thank you again for that amazing long comment, Livy! 😀 You too!

      1. Thank you for telling me how to make the ornament! Now, to find enough buttons, LOL! I will have to try it!
Hmmm, what kind of Christmas tree we have… let me ask my Dad. He said he thinks it’s a certain kind of Spruce! It’s super pokey though, so that made decorating a little uncomfortable!! Ha-ha! 😉
Yes, where we live is super pretty, we live in Idaho! Some people think that Idaho is just a place to grow potatoes, but it’s much more than that! As one person put it, “Idaho is like one big National Park.”!!
Thanks for your long comment!! 😀

        1. You’re welcome! Ha ha, yep. XD We actually bought some at Michaels or something because we didn’t have enough. 😉
Oh yeah, ours was really spiky too. Ouch! XD
Oh yes, I’ll bet that IS pretty then! We’ve been to Idaho, but not too far into it. I’ve heard there are some beautiful spots up there though!
          You’re quite welcome. 😉

  5. What a nice post to get ‘into’ the Christmas spirit 😉 Wonderful photo’s as well!

I just finished a post about the 10 best Christmas gifts to give without murdering people in the stores. It’s really nice to read some other posts about it for inspiration.

Keep up the good work 🙂
